Backpack Sizing Guide

We created a unique series of bullet proof soft inserts that mimic the size of standard laptops - maximizing compatability and protection. Our sizes are designed to match 17" laptops, 15" laptops, 13" laptops and 11" Chromebooks. Laptops do come in slightly different shapes and sizes, so be sure to pick the insert that is the same size as or is slightly smaller than your laptop.

How to Meaure

What to Measure to Get the Right Fit:

Height: Without wearing any shoes, stand straight against a wall with both feet together. Measure from the floor to the top of the head.
Chest: With your child’s arms relaxed at their sides, measure the fullest part of their chest, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.
Waist: Measure at the natural waistline. Have the child bend from side to side; where the body curves is the natural waistline.
Hips: Measure around the fullest part of the hips, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.
Inseam: Measure a similar pair of pants that fits your child well. Measure the pants from the crotch intersection down to the bottom of the pants.
Sleeve Length: Measure from the center of the back (at the base of the neck) to the shoulder, then down to the wrist.

Note: “These measurements apply to both uniforms and integrated soft armor. Ensure the uniform fits snugly to hold the soft armor securely.”

Tip: “Use a flexible tape measure and have a friend help for the most accurate results.”

What if my child is between sizes?

We recommend choosing the larger size to ensure adequate coverage. If you’re unsure, contact us at support@halouniforms.com, and we’ll help you find the best fit.

Can the plates fit in any backpack?

Our plates are designed to fit most backpacks. Measure your child’s backpack to confirm compatibility. Please contact us us if you would like a custom size.

What if the plate doesn’t fit after purchase?

Due to the life-safety nature of our products, we cannot accept returns for sizing issues. However, if there’s a quality issue, we’ll provide a replacement at no cost. Contact us for assistance.

How do I know if the plate is too small or too large?

The plate should fit snugly inside the backpack’s main compartment without excessive movement. It should also cover the vital areas of your child’s back.
